OUR STORY
"All is not lost. Circumstances do not define us—our faith, strength, and purpose do."
"We believe in empowering and equipping individuals and families facing poverty and homelessness by sharing God’s love, His redeeming truth, and His provision. Through advocacy, mentorship, life-skills training, and discipleship, we walk alongside those in need—helping them transition from uncertainty to stability, homelessness to housing, and hardship to opportunity. Every life has purpose, and we are committed to ensuring each person has the resources and support to step into God's plan for their future."

Our Leadership
Darlene Adair,
Evangelist, Founder and President
Darlene’s journey is one of redemption, purpose, and unwavering faith. After experiencing firsthand the struggles of alcoholism and addiction, she endured years of homelessness, searching for hope beyond her circumstances. Following her recovery in 1998, she embarked on a long road to wholeness, seeking redemption and a deeper purpose for her life.
In 2016, a profound spiritual awakening led her to fully commit her life to Christ, embracing the calling He had placed in her heart—to serve those who sit where she once sat. With nothing but faith and determination, Darlene began her ministry by making bag lunches, collecting clothing in her garage, and serving alongside homeless outreach organizations.
This passion soon grew into something greater. Darlene founded Desire Thy Portion Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to restoring dignity and hope to the homeless and impoverished. Recently securing 501(c)(3) status, the organization now serves countless individuals each week—providing hot meals, essential resources, and spiritual guidance throughout Metro Atlanta.
Darlene firmly believes that God has a purpose and a portion for every person, no matter their past or present struggles. Her life’s mission is to see others as God sees them—Beloved. Standing and serving faithfully by her side is her husband, Mitchell Adair, a constant source of support and strength in the ministry.
